WyoSTEP Apartments

The WyoSTEP Apartments are located at 420 W. 24th Street in Cheyenne, on the corner of 24th & Thomes Avenue. At these apartments, we provide services for our Independent Living Apartment Program.

  • There are 24 hour on-site staff to assist residents. During "awake" hours (8 AM to 10 PM), there are two to three staff scheduled at all times. During "sleep" hours (10 PM to 8 AM), there is one staff scheduled, as well as an on-call supervisor. The on-call supervisor is available from 6 PM to 8 AM on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and holidays.
  • Staff work daily with residents on their goals.
  • Staff provide transportation for all residents (to / from work, to school, grocery store, outings, etc.)
  • The program is managed by John Davis.
  • Staff and residents create an activity calendar for each month.
  • Staff work with residents on keeping their apartment clean by creating chore schedules.
  • There are on-site rules to help ensure everyone's safety & privacy.

Apartment Building Quick Facts
  • With its downtown location, the apartments are within walking distance of Safeway, many restaurants and shops, the Lincoln Movie Palace, and the Depot, where concerts are held during the summer, along with the Cheyenne Frontier Days pancake breakfast.
  • The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is only five blocks away from the apartments, with a response time to them in under three minutes.
  • There are three two bedroom apartments, and a single one bedroom apartment spread between two floors. The two bedroom apartments are approximately 900 square feet, while the single bedroom apartment is 700 square feet.
  • Each apartment has central air and heat, a walk-in closet for storage, a washer & drier set, and a dining hutch and nook. Most apartments have updated appliances, carpet, and paint.
  • The apartment building was built in 1969 and features a secured entrance, motion lights, a converted office space, and a landscaped yard with sprinklers.
