Who We Are
Our board of directors are all devoted to the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. They each possess a special understanding and concern for those living with a disability.
Shane Moore - CEO, Treasurer Shane A. Moore is the founder and CEO of WyoSTEP, Inc. and serves as the board of directors' treasurer. He attended Penn State, Casper College, and the University of Wyoming. He has worked with troubled adolescents and people with disabilities for over ten years. He is currently a member of the Brain Injury Task Force for the state of Wyoming, the Cheyenne's Mayor's Council on People with Disabilities, the State Independent Living Council, and the ARC of Laramie County. Gay George - Staff Attorney for BCBS/Chairperson Ms. George is the president of WyoSTEP, Inc.'s board of directors. She is a staff lawyer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming. Ms. George had an older brother with cystic fibrosis. She has a niece who has encephalitis induced epilepsy and continues to have 20 to 40 seizures a week. Ken O'Donnell - PT, MPT, Board Member Ken has been blessed with a son who has Angelman's Syndrome and significant cognitive, motor, and communication impairments. Professionally, he is a physical therapist and currently practices at United Medical Center, serving as the supervisor of inpatient rehab services. He is also a student at Regis University, working on his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. "Through all of my education, professional and personal experiences, I am dedicated to the advocacy of people with disabilities, and I promote inclusion of people with different abilities within our educational system and our community. I support the vision of inclusive education where all children are educated together, and all children are welcomed not despite their differences, but with respect for them; and an inclusive community that values the attributes of all its diverse members." Janice Monk - Board Member Mrs. Monk is the mother of an ABI survivor. Her adult son suffered numerous injuries and severe traumatic brain injuries in a car accident in July 2000. He lived with his parents until the middle of January '08, when he became a resident of the WyoSTEP apartments. Janice brings 7 1/2 years of firsthand experience taking care of and living with a family member with an ABI. |
